Oh, he is going to take his place alright…

This Thanksgiving Disney fans and children of the 90s had a lot to be thankful for when a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Disney classic, The Lion King, dropped during the football game. In case you haven’t watched the trailer yet check it out below…

I mean is your whole body covered in goosebumps? And while we all know the story of The Lion King, here is the one-liner about the film:

The Lion King journeys to the African savanna where a future king must overcome betrayal and tragedy to assume his rightful place on Pride Rock.

In addition to the trailer, Disney also shared the first poster for the film, check it out below…

Hey baby Simba, do you have a map cause we all just got lost in your eyes!

The “live-action” (I am being pompous because the film is a whole lot of CGI and while being compared to The Jungle Book, The Jungle Book had one “live-action” character) film is directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book, Iron Man) with music by Hans Zimmer. The film also has an ALL STAR cast which includes; Donald Glover as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Oliver as Zazu, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa!

So will you be joining this kingdom?

The Lion King is slated to hit theaters in July 2019!
