Dammit, J.K. Rowling, don’t get my hopes up!

Broadway was all abuzz with the New York City premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Rowling along with Jessica Williams decided this would be the best time to reveal Williams character in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel. Williams will be playing Ilvermorny’s Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks.

And that’s all we know. Sorry, muggles and no-majs. Trust me, I’m in your camp. I would love to know more details such as what she teaches and if she’s a tough professor or a goofball. Also, she’s one of the few reasons that I still have any spark of interest in this film. The Johnny Depp thing is still making me sour.

But this is a dream come true for Williams so I’m going to leave the Depp stuff behind for this post. Williams told Entertainment Weekly,

“I hung out with J.K. [Rowling], and she had reached out to me a couple of days after we met. She sent me these emails about this really amazing character that she had been working on. That’s pretty much how it all got started,”…“It’s like my wildest dream … I could not have fathomed that when I was in the fourth grade reading these books, there would be a character I play that exists in this universe. It’s insane to me.”

Rowling later tweeted that we won’t see much of Professor Lally Hicks in the upcoming movie but Fantastic Beasts 3 would be her time to shine.

So does this mean we will get to see more of Ilvermorny or will Professor Lally Hicks join Newt Scamander and Dumbledore’s quest to defeat Grindelwald? I’m going to assume the latter due to knowing that the movies will move more into European territory. But maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part?
