If someone told me that Men in Black was getting rebooted, I would have just shrugged my shoulders and went on with my day. I loved the original growing up but Hollywood with all of its reboots just bores me. Plus, has a reboot been any better than or even close to an original yet? No.
But then the skies opened and revealed the news that Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth were teaming up to star in the new Men in Black. They were amazing together in Thor: Ragnarok so I’m excited to see them bring that comradery to the big screen again. Both proved they can be dramatic but also hilarious when the time calls for it.
Sources for The Hollywood Reporter are claiming that Thompson and Hemsworth won’t be taking over the roles of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Instead, they will be new agents in an ensemble piece rather than a two-person team. Will there be a pug? One can only hope we see Hemsworth interacts with a descendant of Frank.
Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray will helm the reboot that aims to hit theaters on June 14, 2019.
