“It’s a good time to be a female superhero.” – Margaret Stohl

Marvel Comics is set to rollout several first issues this coming summer and one character getting a new origin story is Captain Marvel and current Captain Marvel writer, Margaret Stohl, will get to put her own spin on the story!

This is an exciting time for Carol Danvers and this story is getting out right before the VERY highly-anticipated 2019 Captain Marvel film starring Brie Larson which we know very little about!

In an interview with ABC News, Stohl had this to say about the new storyline:

Carol finds herself reliving memories of a life she thought was far behind her. You can’t outrun where you’re from — and sometimes, you HAVE to go home again. But there are skeletons in Captain Marvel’s closet — and what she discovers will change her entire world.

Also stating that the new storyline will give readers “a chance to show a softer side to Carol.”

But Stohl makes it clear that this a “retelling” of Carol’s story.

It’s nothing you’ll expect and nothing you’ve seen happen but there will be parts of her life that change the context of what you’ve seen before, so it’s telling the other side of the story, of how she came to be.

Life of Captain Marvel #1 hits comic book shops on July 4.
