Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive first look at Dark Phoenix and she is literally and figuratively on fire! You have my attention, Jean Grey.

This movie will be the first time the X-Men go into space. At the beginning of the film, the team is dispatched on a rescue mission but a solar flare hits the jet and Jean is forced to use her powers but the toll unlocks the Phoenix within her.

Sophie Turner studied multiple personality disorder and schizophrenia in order to portray Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix.

So many scenes I have to go from broken-down Jean — that’s when she’s most subsceptible to Phoenix infiltrating her — to this confident, arrogant, judgmental character within milliseconds.

Due to the details of Dark Phoenix and being space, the production will take longer than expected.

Welcome, Jessica Chastain as an otherworldly shapeshifter who manipulates Phoenix for her own agenda. She manages to look as cold as her character sounds.

We also get a peek at Mystique’s new look. According to Jennifer Lawrence Mystique has “grown up a lot…She’s more maternal which surprised me. She starts to get more protective of the [school] children and Charles wants to push them to prove to the world that mutants can be good for humanity and I just see them as small children.”

And we might cry because one of the photos shows the X-Men gathering at a funeral. But who could it be?

Check out EW for all of the photos!
