Holy, moly! I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since Disney-Pixar released the original The Incredibles in theaters. But we’ve had multiple Cars movies that are insanely boring but whatever let’s get back to the positive!
Sure, this is only a teaser but it’s a great teaser trailer none the less. We get to see Jack-Jack having fun with his powers and his dad, Mr. Incredible being delighted that his son has powers. And when I say powers, I mean POWERS. Jack-Jack can shoot laser beams from his eyes, burp flames and turn into a living flame, phase through walls, and become super strong. I’m not sure how superpowers completely work in this universe. Will Jack-Jack lose powers as he gets older to just have one main power or is he a special case? This is something I’m sure will be discussed in the sequel.
The Incredibles 2 kicks off right where the first movie ended, with the family facing off against the Underminer. Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, and Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising their voiceover roles as Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, and Frozone. Dash will now be voiced by Huck Milner. Beyond the initial fight with the Underminer, Elastigirl will be at the forefront of the action, while Mr. Incredible will be staying home to face his biggest challenge yet, a normal life.
The sequel’s official synopsis:
It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
The Incredibles 2 will POW it’s way into theaters on June 15, 2018.
