The It trailer is here and obviously, it’s creepy as f*ck. An ancient evil that takes the form of a killer clown. Dead children telling you that you will float too. Worrisome adults. Bullies.
Thanks to Nerdist, who let writer Kristy Puchko visit the set, we got to learn some more details about the film. The story will be adapted from the book much more than the live-action mini-series that aired in 1990. We will only be seeing the Losers’ Club as children, which will allow the story to focus more on terrifying children rather than forcing the story to focus on separate sections of their lives. It will take place in the 1980s rather than the 1950s. I think we can all agree that star Finn Wolfhard was born in the wrong decade since he keeps landing 80s based projects. Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) will be modeled after old-time clowns rather than goofy modern ones. And he’ll be insanely scary. Get ready for nightmares.
The movie will be a hard-R. Which means we can expect a lot of horrifying things to happen in this movie. And most likely lots of child death? I feel kind of wrong writing that.
It floats into theaters, September 8.
