“I want to live…”
During the Westworld panel in Hall H at SDCC, the HBO hit sci-fi thriller dropped the first trailer for the highly-anticipated second season. Check it out below…
Well, you need to have a strong stomach for the second season of Westworld because holy hell that is A LOT of dead people! Bravo to Westworld for not including any dialogue and just having the now beautifully chilling track “I Gotta Be Me” performed by Tony Bennett paint the narrative for us! Production just started back up earlier this month so this trailer was put together pretty fast and features footage from the first week of filming. I am a wee bit surprised but not really that our Man in Black (Ed Harris) makes it through the events of the finale but what would Westworld be without William?
Here are some other notable quotes from the panel:
Jeffrey Wright on learning that his character Bernard was actually a host the whole time: “I didn’t appreciate at that time what it meant, but going through the course of the season and into this season I’m starting to understand the opportunity there as an actor and existential metaphor.”
Evan Rachel Wood explaining the journey her character Dolores goes on in season 1: “I would drive home covered in bruises and blood and be happy because it was amazing and it was for something that meant something.”
And because I love him so very much, Ben Barnes shares the most challenging scene he had as his character Logan: “Until you’ve ridden a horse balls to the wind, as it were, you will not know true terror or true joy.”
