Prepare for props, costumes, the Iron Throne, and Jaime Lannister’s missing hand…
We are about 9 days away from the seventh season of Game of Thrones and I don’t even want to think too much about the eighth/finale season (which may not come till 2019) but now all Game of Thrones fans have something to look forward during the long hiatus!
HBO announced this week that they will be teaming up with GES to produce Game of Thrones: The Touring Exhibition which will bring the magical world of Westeros to every (while we don’t actually know the locations yet) corner of the world. So cancel that vacations to Belfast because the exhibition will bring you props, costumes, the Iron Throne, and sets from the North, Castle Black, King’s Landing, etc to you. HBO global licensing director Jeff Peters shared this about the exhibition:
Game of Thrones has truly become a worldwide phenomenon, with fans avidly watching the show throughout all corners of the globe. Based on the stellar work GES has done with previous entertainment partners, we think this exhibition is going to be something fans will love, regardless of which part of the world they call home, and we’re excited to give them the opportunity to visit and celebrate the incredible craftsmanship of the talented Game of Thrones production team.
Game of Thrones has done exhibitions in the past, click here to experience my stop at the NYC exhibition, but they have always been limited locations. Game of Thrones: The Touring Exhibition will kick off this Fall in Europe. We will, of course, keep you updated on when the locations and dates are released!
Game of Thrones returns July 16th at 9pm on HBO!
