Answers Are Out There…maybe.
Remember how the 2016 six-episode revival series of The X-Files ended on a HUGE cliffhanger…well now we may know what becomes of Mulder and Scully because Fox has officially announced that they have picked up a 10-episode “installment” of the series!
Though this should not be too shocking to anyone because back in January Fox president David Madden hinted at the series getting new episodes. Here is what Madden had to say about the new installment:
Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.

Though many fans may argue that “season 10/the revival” was not perfect, I do feel that there is room for more closure for these beloved characters. But with that being said I also do like the idea of us just not knowing what happens to them….UGH I am torn! I love X-Files so much but these damn revival never live up to expectations. But at the end of the day, seeing David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully again is everything is dream about!
So David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles and X-Files creator, Chris Carter, will return as an executive producer.
The X-Files is slated to begin production this Summer with a 2017-2018 season air date!
