Oh, demon-neck snaps! A new book series based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer is coming thanks to Simon Pulse (a division of Simon & Schuester).
In an exclusive with Entertainment Weekly, New York Times bestselling author Kiersten White (And I Darken, Paranormalcy) talked about getting offered the chance to write the new series titled Slayer. The series that will be published in the Fall of 2018 (so long away!) focuses on a new Slayer that emerged from the group of potentials from when Willow used her badass magic skills in the final season giving Buffy a ton of allies.
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s influence on my own writing can’t be underestimated,” the author tells EW. “When my agent asked if I was interested, I basically said, ‘Every book I’ve ever written was an audition for this.’ It’s still stunning to me that I get to contribute to a world that has been part of my imagination for more than half my life. Dreaming up my own slayer is one of the most surreal experiences of my career so far. I’m so excited to share her with diehard Scoobies and new fans alike!”
Knowing that a fellow Buffy fan is writing this series makes me happy. I can trust that this series will be in good hands. I’m just going to be a little sour waiting until 2018.
So fellow Slayerettes, are you just as excited for this new book series?
