Get ready for a new generation of royals to cause all sorts of drama.
Everywhere you look now a days there seems to be a new royal drama causing waves, The Crown and Victoria, but you may recall the 2013 mini-series The White Queen. Well, now the Princess is taking over. Just about a year ago Starz announced that they green-lit the sequel, The White Princess, and now we finally have some information about the series which features an all-new cast!
Here is what Starz said about the series:
The White Princess picks up three days after the conclusion of The White Queen, as a new generation ascends to the throne in a tale of power, political divides, family, love, and betrayal. The White Princess is a gripping historical drama uniquely told from the perspective of the women waging the ongoing battle for the English throne: Lizzie (Jodie Comer), Lady Margaret Beaufort (Michelle Fairley) and Dowager Queen Elizabeth Woodville (Essie Davis).
The story begins as one of England’s most politically turbulent times – The War of the Roses – is coming to an end. An uneasy peace is achieved when former King Richard III is defeated at the Battle of Bosworth, and the victor, Henry Tudor, soon-to-be King Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy), is married to Lizzie – a princess from a rival house and Richard III’s former lover.
It seems that the series decided to recast the roles of Princess Elizabeth, Henry, Lady Margaret Beaufort, and Queen Elizabeth Woodville which I do have mixed feelings about. The only actor I am really familiar with is Michelle Fairley who has a history of playing some intense mothers and her new role as Lady Margaret Beaufort will bring that to another level.

GOD! I really LOVE how all these royal series really showcase strong and badass women who are clearly smarter than the men in their life! Talking about badass check out the first art for the series.
The White Princess will air Sunday, April 16th at 8 pm on Starz!
