Peter Capaldi Will be Bowing Out of ‘Doctor Who’

It looks like we will be looking out for the 13th Doctor because Peter Capaldi will be departing.

During an interview with BBC Radio 2  host Jo Whiley, Capaldi made the announcement. “I feel it’s time to move on,” he said.

I feel sad, I love Doctor Who, it is a fantastic programme to work on,” he said. “I can’t praise the people I work with more highly, but I have always been someone that did a lot of different things.”

Capaldi marked the return of a more refined Doctor and made waves with his lifelong love of the series. But the show has been slumping in viewers and it is possible that Capaldi wanted to leave with the end of his contract rather than continue with the show as it makes yet another change. Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat is leaving after the 10th series as well and there have been rumors flying around that the BBC wants to return to a younger Doctor thinking that will help with struggling sales.

Peter Capaldi will bow out in the Doctor Who Christmas special. I for one will miss him and his Scottish attitude.
