The truth may still be out there for Agents Mulder and Scully …
This week during Television Critics Association’s press tour, Fox president David Madden announced that the network’s most popular “new” series of 2016 – The X-Files – will hopefully have an official announcement on when the series will return “shortly.”
Madden stated he would have liked to announce the series return this week but deals and schedules are still being worked out between the David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
It would also seem that Fox is looking to order a longer season. The 2016 season was a six-episode order. The new season will likely be longer, though nowhere close to a standard 22-episode season.
As an X-Files fan I would *literally* take just ONE MORE episode since the “revival” season ended on such a damn cliffhanger. While some diehards thought the “revival” was lackluster, I will never turn down more Dana and Fox!
It is safe to assume that X-Files will not return until 2018.
