There is a new (mini) Civil War in the Marvel Cinematic Universe…
Marvel gave fans a New Year’s treat this week with the first official synopsis for the November release of Thor: Ragnarok and while we have known that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be starring alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, now we know they are not going to be best buds in the film…
In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk
Well, that was a plot full! Hopefully, Thor and the Hulk do not misbehave too much. How much more could the damn Avengers be divided?! Thor and Hulk have had their differences in the past, but who knows how this one will turn out?!
We also know that part of the film is taking a page from the 2006-2007 Planet Hulk comic book, “which saw the Hulk marooned on a distant planet and forced to fight as a gladiator.”
Wonder which side of the Thor VS Hulk battle newbie Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will be on. I mean he could go either way, Thor = magic and Hulk = Science!
In addition to the synopsis, Marvel also shared a behind the scenes photo of Hemsworth on set with director Taika Waititi.
Thor: Ragnarok is slated for a November 3, 2017 release.
