Fans Petition to Make Princess Leia an Official Disney Princess…

…But Is That Necessary?

Princess Leia and Carrie Fisher fans have banned together and created a petition for Disney CEO, Bob Iger, to officially make the Stars Wars (which is now owned by Disney) Princess a Disney Princess.

After the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher, we feel that it is only fitting for Disney to do away with the rule that an official Disney princess must be animated and make Leia a full-fledged princess. This would be a wonderful way to remember Carrie and a welcoming to one of Disney’s new properties that happens to be beloved by millions.

At the time of publication, the Change.org petition has 45,673 supporters with only 4,327 more needed to reach 50,000. There has been no official word from Iger. There are ONLY 11 Princesses: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida.

And while I am personally for anyway people feel fit to mourn the passing of the most kick-ass Princess in all the galaxy — why does Princess Leia need to be a Disney Princes when she is already perfect as is? While I love myself a Disney Princess, Leia has proven that she already means so much to so many people does she really need to do anymore!

Not here to stop you from signing but Leia is perfect the way she is, no “official” title needed!
