The End is Coming…The Eight Season of ‘Game of Thrones’ WILL BE THE LAST!

Winter is here and the end is coming…

This is one Game of Thrones rumor that can be put to rest because the new HBO programming chief, Casey Bloys, has officially confirmed at TCA in California today that the eighth season of Game of Thrones will be the LAST!

Yes, I think (showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss) have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do. If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons, but we want to take their lead with what they can do and what the best version of the show is

Bloys was also questioned about a possible Game of Thrones spin-off/prequel with both Benioff and Weiss involved, “there are no concrete plans.” Much like what has been said regarding a spin-off/prequel, Bloys went on to mimic past remarks stating that it is difficult for Benioff and Weiss to “wrap their heads around it” while still working on the final two seasons of Game of Thrones.

It was also confirmed that due to the delayed release date of season seven, Game of Thrones will not be eligible for next year’s Emmy race. But really who the hell cares! Game of Thrones is the BIGGEST show in THE WORLD and Bloys agrees, “it’s always better to win more Emmys… that’s not our main goal.”

While there you have it Game of Thrones fans, just two more seasons in Westeros…maybe…spin-off could happen!

Game of Thrones will return Summer 2017!
