‘Suicide Squad”s Harley Quinn is Getting a Spin-off Movie

Suicide Squad won’t even open in theaters until August 4th, but Warner Bros. already has plans to give Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) her own spin-off movie featuring some DC heroines.

The biggest names being tossed around include Batgirl, and the Birds of Prey, an all female team of heroes that premiered in the DC universe in 1990. The original team was lead by Barbara Gordon’s Oracle, and included members like the Black Canary, and the Huntress. Later versions of the team would add Lady Blackhawk, Manhunter, Big Barda, Starling, Katana, and dozens of others.

Other possibilities for Harley’s co-stars? Poison Ivy, who has become a big part of the Harley Quinn story in the comics. The two characters became roommates during the New 52.

No other details about the project have been released, and most of this is just speculation based on comments made by WB execs. Regardless of the confirmed details, myself, and other big BoP fans are extremely excited for the possibility of more super heroines on the big screen.
