Some day this book will come…

No, the sixth installment of A Song of Ice and FireThe Winds of Winter – is NOT finished. And yes, there is still NO official release date for the long awaited book – the last ASoIaF book was released in 2011, A Dace with Dragons – but the true king of the realm, GRRM, has given fans a little something to chew on.

GRRM has shared a new chapter from The Winds of Winter on his official website. The last chapter GRRM released from The Winds of Winter was back in April 2015 and featured Alayne Stone aka Sansa Stark’s alias in the books. The new chapter is titled “Arianne” aka Arianne Martell, who in the book series is the eldest daughter of Prince Doran and the heiress of Sunspear. Arianne has yet to be introduced in the TV series.

Here is what GRRM had to say about the chapter on his Live Journal blog:

You want to know what the Sand Snakes, Prince Doran, Areo Hotah, Ellaria Sand, Darkstar, and the rest will be up to in Winds of Winter? Quite a lot, actually. The sample will give you a taste. For the rest, you will need to wait.

And no, just to spike any bullsh– rumors, changing the sample chapter does NOT mean I am done. See the icon above? Monkey is still on my back… but he’s growing, he is, and one day…

Now Warning: this chapter will feature character that have recently been killed off on the hit HBO series, Game of Throne, but that doesn’t mean they won’t live on in ASoIaF.
