Nintendo took to Facebook to announce that both the NX and the next Legend of Zelda game will be arriving in March of 2017.
With a few years under it’s belt, it looks like the WiiU is officially getting a successor. The NX, still a code name, is confirmed to be a gaming console and will launch in March of 2017. The company announced the news in a rather brief post on their Facebook page this morning. In a similar fashion, they announced that the next Legend of Zelda game will be the focus of this year’s E3 and will launch alongside the new console. The game was originally promised for 2015 to “improve quality” but it looks like it won’t make it to light this year either.
We still don’t have many details about what this new console will be other than rumblings of controller patents and rampant speculation. It’s safe to say, however, that the new console will have some functionality that is compatible with the WiiU.
At this point, we’re so close to E3 that to be a little more patient won’t be so bad. Surely we’ll find out more about Zelda and hopefully find out everything we need to know about this new console. We need to make some buying decisions in less than a year, after all.
