20th Century Fox debuted the final theatrical trailer for the upcoming Fantastic Four during their packed panel at San Diego Comic Con, and now you can finally watch it for yourself.
We get a better look at all the various abilities of the FF, and get a closer look at Dr. Doom. There’s also a better sense of the themes of family and camaraderie, which I think really personifies what the Fantastic Four stories should be about.
I’m actually getting pretty excited for this movie. I’m a Fantastic Four fan as it is, and I hope bringing the franchise in line with the X-Men films, tonally, if not chronologically, will go a long way toward perhaps getting some of the detractors to change their tune.
Here’s some reaction from folks who were in attendance:
Fantastic Four appears to have something most superhero pics lack: heart. Sign me up #SDCC

The cast, including Miles Teller (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm/Thing), and Toby Kebbell (Victor von Doom/Dr. Doom), were joined by writer Simon Kinberg and director Josh Trank, and fielded questions from moderator Chris Hardwicke.
The cast discussed their characters, and what drew them to the film. Kate Mara said she always wanted to be in a superhero film, but liked this one because of the “family aspect.” Jordan said, “It’s like living out a childhood dream, being a huge comic book fan, & playing such an iconic character.”
Trank assured audiences that the film will be complete in the next few days, which is good, since it’s due out in theaters on August 7th.
We’ll update with the actual trailer as soon as it drops … or leaks.
