SDCC: ‘Deadpool’ Proves Fans Will Be Happy With The Film

Deadpool is either one of those characters that you either love or love to hate. Same could be said of Ryan Reynolds who already portrayed him and is getting a second shot at it. At the Fox panel at San Diego Comic Con, Deadpool slayed the audience, giving hope that Ryan Reynolds might be able to do a good superhero film after all.

The introductory message at their panel?

A clip from the film showed the smart-mouthed sitting on a chair in a darkened room, smoking a pipe. “Let’s take these broken wings and learn to f-cking fly,” he says.

And to delight fans, Reynolds’ first line upon hitting the stage:

He definitely knows his audience. And he also knows that a lot of people out there are extremely nervous with him taking over Deadpool again after the character got royally f**ked in Wolverine: Origins.

The red band trailer delighted fans so much that they shouted for it to be played one more time and Marvel happily obliged. Once we can get our hands on it, we will definitely share it!

Some choice moments [from the trailer]:

  • going into surgery, “Just don’t make the super suit green—or animated!”
  • Meeting Negasonic Teenage Warhead: “What the shit? That’s the coolest name ever!”
  • Colossus
  • Stan Lee MCing a strip club

Deadpool is set to hit theaters, February 12, 2016.
