Looks like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider aka Eugene Fitzherbert’s life is about to begin on the Disney Channel!
The Mouse House announced this week that the Disney Channel is currently developing an animated series based off the 2010 animated featured film, Tangled. Let’s take a moment to celebrate!
The new series, titled Tangled, reunite Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn/Eugene. Chris Sonnenburg (Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (How to Train Your Dragon) will act as executive producers. Alan Menken and Glenn Slater will also compose music and lyrics for the series.
TVLine.com shared this synopsis for the series.
Set between the events of the feature film and the 2012 short Tangled Ever After, the animated series finds Rapunzel acquainting herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona, as she realizes there is so much left to learn before she can accept her royal destiny. When Rapunzel puts her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out epic adventures, she is joined by Eugene; the plucky chameleon sidekick, Pascal; the no-nonsense horse, Maximus; the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs; and newcomer Cassandra, a tough-as-nails handmaiden who becomes Rapunzel’s confidant.
Tangled is currently in production and is slated for a 2017 release…that is sooooooooo far away! To hold you over here is come concept art for the series:
I am personally freaking out over this announcement! I – as well as our editor, Tricia Ennis – LOVE Tangled! I watch at least once a month and it is one of my favorite Disney Princess tales so I can not wait to see the series, even if I will be pushing 29 when the show airs!
So Disney Princesses and Princes, what do we think about Tangled the animated series?
