This Harry Potter LARP Takes Place In An Actual Castle

I’ve never LARP’d before, but holy flying brooms would I LARP the heck out of this! There is an actual College of Wizardry in Czocha, Poland, in a real castle. Not a studio set or theme park creation. An actual freaking castle. Okay, they don’t actually teach you any magic (or do they?) but they strive to give you the very best Harry Potter experience possible. And that’s any Potterhead’s dream. Admit it, you wanted to go to Hogwarts. I’m not the only one pissed I never received my acceptance letter by owl.

Volunteers immerse attendees in a re-creation of the Harry Potter world for three days and as you’ll see from the video below, they do quite the spell-binding job!

So the downside to this, besides the not really learning any magic part, is that this takes place all the way in Poland, and unless you can find yourself a Portkey, that part might be a little pricey. But the package to attend the school actually isn’t too bad! For $348 (280€), you get lodging at the castle, meals, school robes, a tie in your house color, and a study book. I would of saved a whole lot of money going to the College of Wizardry instead of where I went.

Registration is open now for the next semester, which takes place April 16-19th, 2015. Seeing as this is just a few days before my birthday, who wants to be as sweet as a honeyduke and enroll me in Wizard school?? Any takers?
