REVIEW: ‘Oddly Normal Chapter #1’ – Wishes Do Come True!

share on:

Happy New Comic Wednesday again Geeks! Image Comics has released the new coming of age and bewitching tale of Oddly Normal! Oddly is the daughter of a witch and a perfectly normal gent who makes a birthday wish she will never forget!

Oddly NormalYou thought school was hard for you? Try having green hair (which is actually pretty badass!), pointy ears, and a wee bit of an issue with rain. In chapter 1 of Oddly Normal, we meet Oddly who just wishes to have a more normal life where she stands out less and blends in more. Oddly gets her wish when she blows out her birthday candles and her parents, along with everything, else just disappear!

Created, written, and illustrated by Otis Frampton, Oddly Normal is a real treat for readers of all ages. Yes, clearly the comic maybe targeting a younger demo and I may suffer from a wee bit of “Peter Pan Syndrome,” but the comic is engaging enough to hold the attention of adults and able to stimulate the imaginations of younger readers. Oddly Normal is a great first comic for kids and simple an enjoyable read for comic addicts!

Bottom line: the comic is freaking adorable!

I look forward to continuing this whimsical adventure into Fignation with Oddly!

Oddly Normal Chapter 1 from Image Comics is NOW available at your local comic shop!
