A trailer for Hayaoi Miyazaki’s last film before retirement, The Wind Rises, has finally emerged on the web. The trailer captures a small look at the magic that finished its Oscar qualifying run in New York and LA and will return early next year. Both original Japanese audio with subtitles and an English dub will come to theaters, so there is no reason not to check out this spectacular film.
No word of who will be the voices behind the dub versions of the film and the trailer doesn’t seem to hint at the voice actors. Instead the trailer showcases the great sense of flight present in the film.
The movie follows the life of Jiro, who at a young age dreamed of being an aeronautical engineer and how he succeeds at that while finding love along the way. I saw the film at the New York Film Festival and there are so many more things I want to say about how amazing this film is, the pull quotes in the trailer will hopefully convince you.
