Kait & Monica’s Top 14 Good Geeky Couples

In honor of the most ridiculous holiday in the whole wide world (that is of course my personal opinion), Valentines Day, Staff Writer Monica and I composed two different Top 14 lists.  One to honor the beauty of true Geeky love and the other to scare cupids arrow out of your ass as you run for the hills.

This second list is dedicated to the Geeky couples that make us swoon. These couples have gone to hell and back (sometimes literally) for the sake of true love. Whether you ship them or not, these are the folks that give all of us unrealistic expectations for our own lives. This is Top 14 Good Geek Couples.

Amy and Rory (BBC’s Doctor Who)

She pulled apart time for him. He waited 2,000 years for her. The Centurion and the Girl Who Waited have a love that spans across the stars and made everyone cry as they made their exit on Doctor Who. The Ponds will live forever as one of the most romantic couples in Who-dom. (Monica)

Elizabeth Swan and William Turner (Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3)

The pirate’s life was the life for them.  Class and family did not get in the way of this rebellious 18^th century couple.  Even Will becoming Davy Jones (only being able to come ashore every ten years) did not put an anchor in their love.  They will forever sail into the sunset together. (Kait)

Buffy and Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

She was the Chosen One destined to rid the world of vampires. He was the the vampire with a soul. They had a love that was doomed but even that couldn’t keep them apart after Buffy had to sacrifice Angel to save the world. What girl wouldn’t want a guy that would fight his way out of Hell for the one he loves? (Monica)

Batman and Catwoman (DC Comics)

The Dark Knight and the sassy thief have one of the most infamous DC relationships. Catwoman seems to be one of the only ladies that can break through Bruce’s defenses. Thus making every Batman fan jealous of her. (Monica)

Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley (Harry Potter Series)

Their love is like magic (pun intended). He thought she was an annoying know-it-all and she thought he was a bit of an oaf, thus the beginning of a beautiful relationship.  There is no doubting that these two have a lot of passion, just watch any of the 8 films.   But till the end they will always have each other! Elle and Carl Fredrickson (Disney·Pixar’s Up)

There is no greater love story that was told in 4 to 5 minutes than that of Elle and Carl Fredrickson.  Adventure may be out there, but the best adventure they had was with each other. (Kait)

Shaun and Ed (Shaun of The Dead)

They might not be a “couple” but this pair proved that a strong friendship can survive through the toughest of times. Especially a zombie apocalypse. And even though Ed bit the bullet, Shaun kept him on a leash and played video games with his zombie best friend. (Monica)

Rose Tyler and The 10^th Doctor (BBC’s Doctor Who)

She may have been the Bad Wolf but she was good for him. In every way possible they were perfect for each other.  She gave him something to fight for and he showed her so many different worlds.  They may have ended up in parallel universes, but they never stopped fighting to find each other. Rogue and Gambit (Marvel Comics)

There is just something about a gorgeous man from down South with eyes that glow. He could probably seduce any character in the Marvel universe but he spends his time chasing after a woman with a mutation that would kill him if he touched her skin. Though this couple has had their share of troubles, they will always be one of my favorites.  (Monica)

Simon and Alisha (Misfits) 

When the show first started, no one thought these two would ever become an item. But as the mysterious hero was revealed to be Simon from the future, Alisha couldn’t help falling in love with the quiet outsider. And as future Simon died saving Alisha, it was her turn to make Simon fall in love. This Misift couple are forever in a loop of falling in love with each other. (Monica)

Pam (Pamela) Swynford De Beaufort and Eric Northman (Sookie Stackhouse Series and HBO’s True Blood)

They might not be in a current romantic relationship, but we know for sure these two have had some crazy vampire sex.  Their love for one another has lasted over 100 years and shows no sign of stopping.  Blood tears dropped around the world when Eric “released” Pam in season 5.  No human will every break the bond between these two, though Sookie has caused some close calls. Pepper Potts and Tony Stark (Marvel’s Iron Man)

We got to see their love grow throughout three films already, and we will witness even more this May when Iron Man 3 is released.  Their relationship was strictly business to begin with but who could not fall for a ginger like Pepper and a smart-ass billionaire like Stark.  Pepper maybe the only person in the world that will put the rebellious Stark in his place and she is his true love. Wall-E and Eve (Disney·Pixar’s Wall-E)

Whoever said robots aren’t capable of love? Wall-E proved to be more charming than any prince as he courted Eve with countless romantic gestures. The sparks between them could melt any heart. (Monica)

Katiness Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games Series)

For those of you that have only witness the bond between Katiness and Peeta through the film, shame!  Read the books you lazy people!  Katiness and Peeta’s love story will break and warm your heart (I cried like a little baby when reading Catching Fire and Mockingjay). Real or Not Real these two will always stay with each other. (Kait)

That does it for the picks Monica and I selected, but our Editor-In-Chief was a wee bit heartbroken when we did not choose her first ship couple.  Thus on behalf of Tricia, I have added an honorary couple to our list.

Dana Scully and Fox Mulder (The X-Files)

These two survived alien abductions, brain cancer, government conspiracy, mysterious pregnancy, and even death. Though it took nearly 8 years to officially get them together, we watched their relationship grow from skeptic and believer to fiercely loyal partners to lovers who would risk everything to find the truth and stay together.
