3M and Roku Are Bringing Movie Night Home
When was the last time you thought to yourself, “You know what’s really cool? Projectors.”? The answer is probably not recently, especially considering their cost comparative to a regular TV is usually a bit high. Well, get ready for everything to change now that 3M has partnered with streaming video service Roku to create the first-of-its-kind, handheld, battery powered projector that will stream hours of online content straight to your wall.
The little device measures 4.3 x 4.2 x 2.0 inches – small enough to fit in your palm – and can project a WVGA resolution image across 120 inches of the wall, or other surface, of your choosing. It has a reported battery life of just under three hours, and includes a headphone jack, or built-in speakers. Pair that with the included Roku Streaming Stick, and you get access to tons of commercial video from your favorite streaming services, as well as from the array of original Roku channels, for nearly endless projected entertainment.
The Streaming Projector will be available this November – just in time for Christmas shopping – for $299 as an Amazon exclusive product.
