CW Developing Supernatural Drama ‘Abaddon’s Journal’
The CW has been stocking up on their supernatural pilots this year. They’ve seen great success with ongoing dramas Supernatural and Vampire Diaries, and next week they will premiere the comic book adaptation Arrow, along with Beauty and the Beast. Now the youth-skewing network has added the fixer drama Abaddon’s Journal to their development reel.
Journal will reportedly follow an Angel, empowered with a book that records all those who make a deal with the devil, who sets out to save compromised souls with the help of a sheltered young woman, THR reported Monday.
The project will be produced by Bill Haber, whose credits include Rizzoli & Isles and Beauty and the Beast. The script will be penned by Three Kings co-producer Douglas Segal.
Abaddon’s Journal has so far only been picked up to script, so no word on pilot production or cast for a while.
The CW has picked up a number of other supernatural dramas to script this year, including Embrace, a drama about fallen angels based on Jessica Shirvington’s book, Copeland Prep, a monster drama from Bret Easton Ellis and Fake Empire, and a Wonder Woman prequel called Amazon.
