Hot Topic Ruins Wonder Woman

I usually avoid Hot Topic because it makes me feel like an old lady with the insanely loud music and annoying teenagers but it is good for the occasional geeky accessory so I check their site every once in awhile. Tonight I stumbled upon their slutty treatment of one of my favorite iconic female characters, Wonder Woman. See their disgusting do-it-yourself costume below titled Lady Amazonian.

It’s like that line in Mean Girls,

“In the regular world, Halloween is when children dress up in costumes and beg for candy. In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.”

Why do you have to make a Wonder Woman hooker costume? Is she going undercover to fight pimps? Wonder Woman would never sink to that level.

Wonder Woman is bad ass and can kick any guy into next week. This Hot Topic costume just obliterates that, and pushes back the women that are actual geeks, because other women think slapping on some superhero merchandise makes them cool.

The best part about all of this is that there is nothing sexist about the guy’s superhero costumes of course. Just a mask and a T-shirt and they are good.
