‘Torchwood’ Star Joins the Cast of ‘Arrow’

There was little doubt that the CW’s new super hero drama Arrow would find itself a home on my personal DVR, but the latest casting news coming from the cable net, makes the fall season that much more exciting.

John Barrowman, who appeared as Captain Jack Harkness on the BBC’s Doctor Who, and starred in it’s spin-off, Torchwood, will reportedly be joining series in a recurring role as “an acquaintance of the Queen family.” Just what that means, however, has become a bit of a debate among fans. EW has speculated that he might be Stanley Dover Sr., a philanthropist who finds and assists Oliver Queen in his mission as the Green Arrow after his return from the island, but turns out to be … drumroll please … an evil villain bent on taking over Oliver’s body for his own nefarious purpose.

It’s certainly a possibility, but we’re  not going to place our bets just yet. Who do you think Barrowman will be playing?
